Without source-level conversion data, you are optimizing blindly.

    CRO delivers the best return when you already have meaningful traffic.     For a WordPress site running Facebook or Instagram ads — or considering it — the Pixel is the essential first installation before any campaign goes live. Without it, you cannot optimize your ads for conversions, you cannot retarget site visitors, and you cannot build lookalike audiences based on your visitors or leads.

    How to Add Facebook Pixel to WordPress

    Thank-you page method

    If your form redirects to a dedicated thank-you page after submission (e.g., /thank-you), add a Lead or Contact event that fires on that page URL. In GTM, create a tag that fires the Lead event and set the trigger to Page URL contains “/thank-you.” In PixelYourSite, add the thank-you page URL to the conversion event settings.

    Form submission event method

    Facebook Pixel and Lead Source Attribution

    The Facebook Pixel tells Meta which users on your site converted. It does not tell your CRM which leads came from which campaign.

    In Meta Ads Manager, you can see how many Lead events were attributed to your Facebook and Instagram ads. But those are aggregate numbers in Meta’s reporting interface, not individual lead records linked to your CRM entries. Your CRM does not receive information from the Pixel about which specific contact came from which Facebook ad.

    To connect individual leads in your CRM to the Facebook ad that produced them, you need UTM parameters on your ad destination URLs. When someone clicks your Facebook ad, UTM parameters (utm_source=facebook, utm_medium=cpc, utm_campaign=your-campaign-name) are appended to the URL. When they submit your contact form, a first-party attribution tool reads those UTM parameters and writes them to the form submission, which flows into your CRM as lead source data.
